Job summary

FastTek Global in Troy, Michigan is seeking an experienced Lead Supplier Development/Quality Engineer to lead supplier quality programs for EV accessory systems. You will audit suppliers, manage APQP/PPAP processes and develop KPI scorecards to drive performance and ensure on-time delivery.

This role partners with internal engineering and manufacturing teams to qualify new suppliers, resolve quality issues, and sustain robust supplier relationships in a fast-paced startup environment.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree or higher in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Materials Science, or Supply Chain Management.
• 10+ years of direct Supplier Quality Engineering or Development experience, or 5+ years at a startup preferably with automotive accessories.
• Excellent knowledge of quality systems and tools (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, lean, continuous improvement).
• Hands-on experience with low-voltage systems, exterior/interior accessory integration, and smart tech features is a strong plus.
• Strong working knowledge of supplier KPIs, scorecard development, and holding suppliers accountable for quality and delivery.
• Familiarity with automotive safety, mechanical and electrical integration standards related to EV accessory systems.
• Ability to interpret and review technical drawings and GD&T standards for accessory fitment and installation.
• Experience with ERP and eQMS to track supplier performance and part traceability.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills; startup adaptability.

Job Description:
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
We are seeking an energetic, organized, and experienced Lead Supplier Development/Quality Engineer (SDE/SQE) to join our growing team. This SDE/SQE will lead aspects of supplier quality and performance for EV-specific vehicle accessories, working closely with suppliers of Exterior and Interior systems and add-ons, particularly for our SUV variant. You'll ensure our accessories meet the highest standards of safety, durability, and integration with our electric platforms - on budget and on time.
WHAT YOU GET TO DO:

• In this position the candidate will be responsible for performing domestic and international supplier audits, administer the APQP process, hold supplier(s) accountable to our Quality Requirements Manual, develop implement supplier partner KPI/scorecard and implement actions to improve hold suppliers accountable to perform.
• The SQE will also be pivotal in evaluating suppliers for production awards, all aspects of supplier quality performance, developing strong supplier relationships, and working with all internal stakeholders to support the company's overall objectives and core values.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM :

• Very strong problem-solving capabilities with good working knowledge of 8Ds, 6Sigma, Shanin etc.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
• High level of integrity and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment.
