Job summary

American Honda Motor Company, Inc. in Ohio seeks a Supplier Quality Engineer to minimize supplier quality issues via root cause analysis, implement temporary solutions and permanent countermeasures, and drive regional continuous improvement with suppliers.

You will coordinate supplier activities with HDMA and internal teams, approve design and non-design changes, and lead problem-solving initiatives to assure optimal product quality and minimal line impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent with related experience; 0–6 years depending on education.
• 2-year tech degree with related experience or 6 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• Preferred at least 1 co-op term in Honda or similar manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Approve part/process changes for design and non-design changes (15%).
• Approve/confirm supplier root-cause analysis and countermeasures (15%).
• Perform data analysis and drive supplier characteristic improvements (20%).
• Oversee problem-solving investigations (15%).
• Coordinate supplier countermeasure activities for effective solutions (20%).
• Communicate countermeasures with suppliers and other departments (10%).
• Build technical knowledge, Honda Way, and department knowledge (5%).
