Job Description
Pay Range: $40/hr - $50/hr
Essential Job Duties
- Work relentlessly with suppliers to improve quality, identify and execute cost reductions, capacity improvements, and risk mitigations.
- Manage supplier changes including manufacturing process changes, capacity optimization, facility changes, and new equipment qualification.
- Investigate, analyze, close, and prevent recurrence of non-conformances for purchased components from suppliers.
- Drive suppliers to continually improve their business and manufacturing process performance to meet requirements for supplier excellence using a collection of best practices in project management and SPC.
- Complete project and part qualification deliverables that include: FAIR, Process FMEA, Gage R&R, Measurement Correlation, Process Capability, and Process Validation.
Required Skills and Experience
- Demonstrable knowledge in at least one of the following manufacturing processes: machined metal components, plastic molded parts, aluminum castings, electrical cables, PCAs, and motion control components (motors, brakes, sensors).
- Strong and persistent curiosity for solving technical problems in component manufacturing and inspection within our cross-functional engineering team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle challenging technical and interpersonal situations with suppliers and internal customers.
- Practical knowledge of Part Qualification and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
- Ability to read and interpret detailed mechanical drawings containing GD&T to communicate technical information regarding manufacturing and inspection.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Product Lifecycle Management software (e.g., Agile), and ERP software (e.g., SAP).
Required Education and Training
- BS degree in Engineering or equivalent; Master’s degree preferred.
- 3-5 years of related experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Supplier Engineering, Quality Engineering, or Design Engineering.
- Experience in a medical device or capital equipment company in a different industry is preferred.
