Parker Aerospace in Akron seeks a Division Supplier Development Manager to lead supplier performance improvement, risk mitigation, and readiness across the global supply base. You will own the Work Transfer Process, drive shortages resolution, and coach a team across multiple sites.

You will collaborate with procurement, engineering, quality, operations, and program teams to advance lean initiatives, monitor KPIs, and report progress to leadership. Travel up to 50% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Supply Chain or related field; MBA preferred.
• 4+ years of leadership in manufacturing operations.
• Lean Six Sigma certification or CI experience.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, IATF 16949, or similar quality standards.
• Experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, control plans, 8D, RCCA, and SPC.
• Experience with ERP, supplier management, quality, or BI systems.
• Demonstrated teamwork and team-building skills.
• Ability to develop individuals and teams and promote change.

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Division Supplier Development Manager to lead supplier performance improvement, capability development, and risk mitigation across our supply base. The Division Supplier Development Manager will own the Work Transfer Process, drive resolution on chronic shortages and use a variety of predictive analytic tools to identify and mitigate risk. This position will collaborate cross functionally with peers from other divisions and with group leadership. Responsible for embracing and driving lean enterprises systems throughout the procurement process.

This role is responsible for leading supplier development activities across our global supply base. Will oversee supplier performance improvement initiatives, support supplier readiness and risk mitigation, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure suppliers meet expectations for quality, delivery, cost, capacity, and continuous improvement. The position also requires responsibility for coaching and developing supplier development professionals and coordinating supplier engagement strategies across multiple sites or divisions.

Position will directly report to the Division Supply Chain Manager. Will interact with all levels of Division management, including operational, engineering, quality control, marketing, lean, program management and finance. May supervise supplier development personnel and outside contract services. Key supplier and key customer contact required.

Essential Functions

• Coach, mentor, and develop supplier development team members by providing guidance, performance feedback, training support, and growth opportunities to strengthen technical capability, leadership skills, and overall team effectiveness.

• Lead supplier development initiatives to improve supplier quality, delivery, cost, responsiveness, and operational performance.

• Assess supplier capabilities, capacity, manufacturing processes, quality systems, and business risks.

• Develop and execute supplier improvement plans, corrective actions, and performance recovery strategies.

• Partner with procurement, supplier quality, engineering, operations, and program teams to support business objectives.

• Conduct supplier audits, process assessments, and performance reviews.

• Drive root cause analysis and corrective action activities using structured problem-solving tools.

• Monitor supplier KPIs, including on-time delivery, quality performance, cost performance, lead time, and responsiveness.

• Support supplier selection, qualification, onboarding, and ongoing performance management.

• Lead continuous improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or similar methodologies.

• Identify supply chain risks and develop mitigation plans to protect continuity of supply.

• Build strong supplier relationships while holding suppliers accountable to performance expectations.

• Support new product introduction, production readiness, capacity planning, and supplier launch activities.

• Prepare reports and presentations for leadership on supplier performance, risks, and improvement progress.

• Demonstrate strong leadership skills thru engaging suppliers and peers to achieve common goals.

• Must be able to travel domestically and internationally up to 50% of time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree, preferably in Supply Chain or Operations Management, Business, or Engineering

• Experience working in or with Operations, Quality, Engineering and Manufacturing disciplines a plus. Advanced degree such as MBA preferred

• 4 or more years of increasing leadership responsibility within manufacturing operations requiring advanced project planning and team organizational skills.

• Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent continuous improvement experience.

• Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, IATF 16949, or similar quality standards.

• Experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, control plans, 8D, RCCA, and statistical process control.

• Experience using ERP, supplier management, quality, or business intelligence systems.

• Demonstrated teamwork and team building skills in producing results and meeting organizational objectives.
