Job summary

Tramec LLC is seeking a Supplier Development Engineer to lead supplier qualification, development, and validation at either the Holland, MI or Galion, OH facility. You will partner with Engineering, Purchasing, Quality, and Manufacturing to ensure components meet engineering and cost requirements.

The role emphasizes APQP/PPAP leadership, supplier audits, and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce risk and enable successful product launches.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 5–8 years in engineering, supplier quality, or purchasing engineering experience.
• Experience with supplier qualification and validation of components.
• Experience with APQP and PPAP, domestic and international suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier qualification and capability assessments; maintain supplier records.
• Develop suppliers to meet engineering and quality expectations and improve manufacturability.
• Coordinate APQP/PPAP activities; review DFMEA/PFMEA, control plans, and PPAP packages.
• Support supplier validation, dimensional inspections, and material certifications.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Purchasing, Quality, Manufacturing, and Product Engineering.
• Travel up to 25% as required.
