Job summary

Tramec Sloan, LLC is seeking a Supplier Development Engineer to manage purchased components across the product lifecycle, partnering with Engineering, Purchasing, Quality, and Manufacturing to ensure components meet engineering, cost, and delivery requirements.

The role leads APQP/PPAP activities, supplier qualification, product validation, and supplier development initiatives, coordinating Run-at-Rate and test/validation programs across two U.S. facilities in Holland, MI and Galion, OH.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5–8 years in engineering, supplier quality, manufacturing engineering, or purchasing engineering.
• Experience with supplier qualification and validation of components.
• Experience with APQP and PPAP.
• Experience collaborating with domestic and international suppliers.
• Heavy-duty truck, automotive, or industrial manufacturing background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier qualification and capability assessments.
• Coordinate APQP/PPAP activities and Run-at-Rate.
• Support supplier development, cost reduction, and design reviews.
• Review supplier drawings, specifications, and change notices.
• Verify regulatory and quality requirements for purchased components.
• Coordinate validation, dimensional inspections, and first article inspections.
• Collaborate across Engineering, Purchasing, Quality, Manufacturing, and Sales.
