The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point is seeking a Supplemental Instruction Student Leader to assist in STEM tutoring and support services on campus. This hourly student role emphasizes collaboration with peers in a supportive, inclusive learning environment and requires a commitment of at least two semesters.

Ideal candidates have completed at least one UWSP semester with two semesters remaining, a 3.0 GPA or better (or a faculty recommendation), and a passion for helping others learn.

Qualifications

• Completed at least one semester at UWSP with at least two semesters remaining.
• Demonstrate a strong grasp of course material and/or written skills as evidenced by a 3.0 GPA or above and/or a faculty recommendation letter.
• Available to tutor for at least two semesters.
• Willing to work with peers in a collaborative, inclusive learning environment.
• Enjoy helping others learn.

Responsibilities

• Provide tutoring and support in one of our service areas.
• Assist learners in the development of effective study skills and test-taking strategies.
• Learn and continually apply TLC and tutoring program procedures.
• Regularly check staffemail and communicate with other staff members.
• Attend required orientations, meetings, and training sessions.
