Job summary

West River Health Services, a mission-driven hospital in southwestern North Dakota, seeks a Cafeteria Cook to support patient and staff meals. You will prepare and portion salads and desserts, follow HACCP guidelines, and ensure accurate, safe service in a busy hospital cafeteria.

You will maintain a sanitary work area, handle cash register duties, and support daily cafeteria operations, including diet-specific meals and waste control.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in food service is a plus.
• Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and portions salads and desserts for patients, staff and guests.
• Applies safe and sanitary food handling practices following HACCP guidelines.
• Maintains salad bar and dessert area; serves food to patients on regular or modified diets.
• Rings up purchases on the cash register and balances at shift end.
• Keeps work area clean and sanitary and follows safety rules.
