Job description

This position is located in the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP), Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary (ODAS), Division of Policy Development in Washington, D.C.

This position is outside of the bargaining unit.

**Excepted Service Position - Schedule Policy/Career Position**

For GS-15: Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, GS-14, in the Federal service.

Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position successfully, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level.

Qualifying specialized experience for the GS-15 level includes at least three (3) of the following:

• Lead or direct high performing teams that analyze, develop, and/or implement policies related to the employment of individuals with disabilities;
• Identify, evaluate and make recommendations to improve major disability program and policy issues;
• Provide policy and program analysis and recommendations to increase the employment of individuals with disabilities; and/or
• Synthesize inputs from functional areas (e.g., disability employment, rehabilitation services, accessibility, technology, workforce development, and social services) to develop initiatives and policies that promote employment for youth and/or adult individuals with disabilities.
