Summary

You will serve as a Supervisory Park Ranger PSAR with the National Park Service. Point Reyes National Seashore offers the opportunity to work in one of California's most scenic coastal environments, while remaining within commuting distance of the San Francisco Bay Area. The primary purpose of this uniformed position is to perform park ranger duties associated with preventing search and rescue incidents from occurring in park units by the National Park Service

Major Duties

Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Provides direct first level supervision to 8 permanent, 3 seasonal, and over 50 part-time volunteer staff performing PSAR-impacted Visitor Services Analyze and evaluate changes in PSAR program operations and their effect on overall program objectives, priorities, and milestones. Conduct substantial analysis regarding PSAR-related educational strategies and program offerings. Conduct substantial analysis of the park's volunteer program, identify trends and patterns in the use of volunteers for PSAR, and independently assess volunteer needs and prepare relevant volunteer service descriptions. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations and stakeholders invested in PSAR.
