Job summary

The National Park Service at Point Reyes National Seashore is seeking a Supervisory Park Ranger PSAR to lead search and rescue prevention efforts along California’s rugged coastline. This uniformed leadership role focuses on protecting visitors and supporting park safety programs within the San Francisco Bay Area corridor.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship required.
• Background investigation and favorable adjudication.
• Direct Deposit participation required.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Uniform and uniform standards required; uniform allowance provided.
• Complete training and obtain government travel/purchase card.
• Probationary period may be required.
• CTAP/ICTAP eligibility rules may apply.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct first level supervision to staff (8 permanent, 3 seasonal, 50+ volunteers) in PSAR-impacted Visitor Services.
• Analyze PSAR program operations, assess impact on objectives and milestones.
• Develop and evaluate PSAR educational strategies and offerings.
• Analyze park volunteer program, identify trends and staff needs, and prepare volunteer descriptions.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external organizations and stakeholders.
