Supervisory Investigative Program Specialist

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Professional Responsibility, Investigative Operations Directorate, Threat Mitigation Analysis Division, in Washington, DC. Key Responsibilities

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Director- TMAD in the Investigative Operations Directorate. The employee exercises broad executive level management authority in directing, managing, and overseeing a staff of employees both supervisory and non-supervisory responsible for intelligence and law enforcement analysis. This position starts at a salary of $169,279.00 (GS-15, Step 1) to $197,200.00 (GS-15, Step 10).

The Major Duties for this position are listed below but not limited to: Directing, managing, and overseeing investigative operations involving alleged employee misconduct, ensuring investigations, inspections, and evaluations are conducted in accordance with applicable laws, policies, procedures, and organizational priorities.

Providing executive-level oversight of investigative program activities, including monitoring program effectiveness, evaluating misconduct trends, identifying operational weaknesses, and directing adjustments to improve efficiency and mission performance.

Supervising subordinate supervisors and staff by assigning work, evaluating performance, reviewing work products, approving leave, recommending awards and promotions, addressing employee grievances, and taking or recommending disciplinary actions. Coordinating investigative activities with the DHS Office of Inspector General, federal law enforcement agencies, and other internal and external stakeholders to support significant, complex, or sensitive investigations.

Reviewing and providing recommendations on proposed legislation, regulations, policies, and administrative requirements that may affect investigative, compliance, enforcement, or program operations.
