NAVAIR is seeking a Supervisory Interdisciplinary Life Scientist/Environmental Engineer/Physical Scientist in the Compliance and Quality Department at Fleet Readiness Center Southwest. The position leads environmental compliance initiatives, data collection, and program development to ensure regulatory adherence.

Responsibilities include managing budgets, funds for waste disposal and equipment, and oversight of contractor contracts within the Environmental Division.

• Represent the division in developing new methods to improve environmental compliance and pollution prevention.
• Communicate regulatory forecasts and their impact to management and cross‑functional teams.
• Ensure funding for waste disposal, equipment, replacements, and training.
• Oversee contractor service contracts, procurement review, and contract administration for the Environmental Division.

SUPERVISORY INTERDISCIPLINARY LIFE SCIENTIST/ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER/PHYSICAL SCIENTIST

Position Description

You will serve as either a SUPERVISORY LIFE SCIENTIST, SUPERVISORY ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER, or SUPERVISORY PHYSICAL SCIENTIST in the COMPLIANCE AND QUALITY DEPARTMENT of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.

Position Duties/Responsibilities

• You will establish methods, techniques, and parameters of data collection, direct employees to collect and organize data, conduct analyses and formulate conclusions relative to environmental regulatory compliance.
• You will assess the abilities of department personnel to meet current, future and contingency requirements and develop plans and programs to enhance capabilities while performing within budget.
• You will represent the division in matters relating to the development of new or innovative methods and processes to improve environmental compliance, increase pollution prevention and conserve energy resources.
• You will communicate the compliance forecast for regulatory issues and their potential impact to the industrial operations of an industrial aerospace repair facility with management representatives, Installations and Logistics, and Supply.
• You will ensure adequate funding is available for waste disposal, equipment purchases and replacements, consumable items, contract support, contract services, salaries, training and travel.
• You will manage the contractor service contracts, procurement review, contract administration, and all funds allocated to and expended by the Environmental Division.
