Job description

This position reports to the Materials Manager for the supervision and daily operations of one or more areas of a manufacturing facility such as Cycle Counting, Shipping / Receiving and Warehouse.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the supervision of the department to include the overall direction, mentoring and training of employees.
  • Makes recommendations to management of departmental personnel needs
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems
  • Schedules the workforce to support the business.
  • Audits cycle counting data and completes reconciliation procedure.
  • Makes recommendations to management on equipment, procedures, methods to improve & meet production goals.
  • Coordinates movement of material within shop to insure safe, efficient operation.
  • Confers with other production supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
  • Reports machine and equipment malfunctions to maintenance personnel.
  • Other essential duties and responsibilities may be assigned as required.
  • This position is also responsible for, with authority to follow ISO procedures, initiate action to prevent problems, document quality problems, contribute to problem solutions, verify implementation of solutions, control further processing when a problem is identified, protect the environment, including preventing pollution, analyzing or identifying areas for correction or improvement.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Associate or technical degree in business or related field; three to five years successful experience; 3 years minimum experience in a supervisory / manager capacity; or equivalent successful combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to travel as required and /or directed.
