Job summary

Lakeside Foods, Inc. in Owatonna, MN is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to lead labeling operations and support the shipping team. You will supervise the labeling line staff, coordinate schedules, and ensure accuracy and safety on the production floor.

The role emphasizes hands-on oversight, paperwork accuracy, and collaboration with management and maintenance to keep labeling operations efficient and safe.

Qualifications

• Experience reading safety rules, operating instructions, and procedures.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to calculate proportions, percentages and volumes.
• Ability to solve practical problems with variable conditions.

Responsibilities

• Supervise labeling line employees.
• Assist with seasonal labeling staff.
• Maintain labeling schedules for customer orders.
• Inspect labeled cans and adjust labeling machinery as needed.
• Complete MSS sheets and cycle counts on schedule.
• Prepare daily reports and communicate with management.

What You'll Do:

• Supervise all employees on labeling lines.
• Assist with New Pack seasonal employees.
• Study production orders to assure type and quantity of labels.
• Assist in creating and maintaining labeling schedule for customer orders.
• Observe labeling operations and inspect cans that are labeled.
• Start, adjust and repair labeling machinery or notify maintenance department.
• Ensure all MSS sheets for all Labeling Lines are completed and being performed.
• Completing Monthly and yearly cycle counts or as needed/asked.
• Completing inventory checks to ensure supplies are ordered on time.
• Completing daily reports, log sheets or other paperwork that is needed by manager.
• Maintain open communications with all Manager and corporate office.
• Training of employees.
• Assist in supervising clerical staff.
• Cross train and assist shipping supervisor as needed.
• Adhere to all Lakeside Foods policies and procedures.
• May perform other duties as assigned by the warehouse manager/Assistant Manager.
• Notify manager immediately if any unsafe or potentially hazardous conditions are discovered.

What You'll Bring:

• Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, and volume
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of identified variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Through individual and team efforts, enthusiastically work toward the continuous improvement of his/her job, work area, department and Lakeside as a whole.
