Job summary

Oil-Dri Corporation of America is seeking a Plant Supervisor for our Blue Mountain, Mississippi facility. You will supervise warehouse and shipping staff, manage daily production schedules, and ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance while optimizing team effectiveness.

Candidates should have ERP manufacturing experience, a high school diploma (college degree preferred in logistics/ops), and at least 3 years in distribution or packaging with supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• ERP Manufacturing system experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• College degree in logistics/operations-related field preferred.
• Minimum 3 years experience in a distribution or packaging environment.
• Minimum 1 year supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience in bulk material handling and packaging processes preferred.
• Experience with counting inventory and maintaining inventory documents preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise scheduling of Warehouse and Shipping staff and direct day-to-day activities.
• Enforce safety, housekeeping and MSHA standards across the team.
• Investigate safety incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Manage performance evaluations and other plant supervision duties.
• Promote adherence to company policies and quality standards.
• Verify inventory availability and maintain accurate records.
• Process work orders and purchase requisitions as required.
• Review transactions and conduct monthly cycle counts.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

Job Overview

Supervise the scheduling of staff and directing of the warehouse and shipping day-to-day staff and work plan. Supervise the storage and movement of finished goods inventory and all packaging operations. Optimize morale & team effectiveness by embracing a “total” team concept encompassing packaging and warehousing. Adhering to all safety, regulatory and quality requirements.

Schedule: Monday - Friday onsite required.

Key Responsibilities

• Provides direct supervision, training and scheduling of Warehouse and Shipping teammates in order to maintain productivity and efficiency.
• Ensures that warehouse and shipping teammates follow Oil-Dri safety and housekeeping policy, and that all machinery and equipment follow MSHA safety standards.
• Reports and investigates safety incidents and develops corrective actions to eliminate future recurrences.
• Handles performance management including performance evaluations on teammates and performs all other administrative functions of a plant supervisor.
• Promotes and enforces compliance with company policies, processes and procedures.
• Understands all the quality standards
• Takes corrective action to eliminate quality problems, such as excessive waste or re-work.
• Verifies the availability (inventory) of materials, tools, and equipment to perform scheduled work.
• Initiates and completes work orders and purchase requisitions (materials, supplies, tools, etc.) as required.
• Review and verify transactions
• Count and maintain accurate daily inventory records. Conducts monthly cycle counts.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

• Experience with an ERP Manufacturing system
• High school diploma or equivalent
• College degree in a logistics/operations-related field preferred
• Minimum 3 years experience in a distribution or packaging environment
• Minimum 1 years experience in a supervisory capacity preferred
• Experience in bulk material handling and packaging processes preferred
• Experience with counting inventory and maintaining accurate inventory documents preferred

Skills & Abilities:

• Familiarity with MS Excel spreadsheets, word processing and Outlook. Working knowledge of an ERP and HRIS Time Keeper strongly preferred.
• Able to analyze problems and present workable solutions
