Job summary

Oil-Dri Corporation of America is seeking a Plant Supervisor for Blue Mountain operations in Blue Mountain, Mississippi. This role oversees warehouse and shipping staff, enforces safety and quality standards, and ensures inventory accuracy.

The position requires 3+ years in distribution/packaging and 1+ year supervisory experience, with a preference for a logistics/operations degree. Monday–Friday onsite schedule with family-friendly benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience with an ERP Manufacturing system.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• College degree in a logistics/operations-related field preferred.
• Minimum 3 years experience in a distribution or packaging environment.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a supervisory capacity preferred.
• Experience in bulk material handling and packaging processes preferred.
• Experience with counting inventory and maintaining accurate inventory documents preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the scheduling of Warehouse and Shipping teammates to maintain productivity.
• Ensure safety and housekeeping policies are followed and MSHA standards are met.
• Investigate safety incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Perform performance evaluations and administrative duties of plant staff.
• Promote compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Ensure quality standards and reduce waste or rework.
• Verify inventory availability and prepare work orders and requisitions.
• Maintain accurate daily inventory records and conduct monthly cycle counts.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Overview

Supervise the scheduling of staff and directing of the warehouse and shipping day-to-day staff and work plan. Supervise the storage and movement of finished goods inventory and all packaging operations. Optimize morale & team effectiveness by embracing a “total” team concept encompassing packaging and warehousing. Adhering to all safety, regulatory and quality requirements.

Schedule: Monday - Friday onsite required.

Key Responsibilities

• Provides direct supervision, training and scheduling of Warehouse and Shipping teammates in order to maintain productivity and efficiency.
• Ensures that warehouse and shipping teammates follow Oil-Dri safety and housekeeping policy, and that all machinery and equipment follow MSHA safety standards.
• Reports and investigates safety incidents and develops corrective actions to eliminate future recurrences.
• Handles performance management including performance evaluations on teammates and performs all other administrative functions of a plant supervisor.
• Promotes and enforces compliance with company policies, processes and procedures.
• Understands all the quality standards
• Takes corrective action to eliminate quality problems, such as excessive waste or re-work.
• Verifies the availability (inventory) of materials, tools, and equipment to perform scheduled work.
• Initiates and completes work orders and purchase requisitions (materials, supplies, tools, etc.) as required.
• Review and verify transactions
• Count and maintain accurate daily inventory records. Conducts monthly cycle counts.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:
