We have an exciting opportunity for a Supervisor of Travel Medical Disability Examiners to lead our growing team. This supervisory role involves overseeing physicians and mid-level providers on the Medical Disability Exam Travel team, evaluating and conducting exams for Medical Disability claims, including TBI exams for Veterans. The role requires traveling within the U.S. to fixed facilities and mobile units to conduct exams. When not traveling, you'll oversee the team, establish collaborations with mid-level providers, and handle ACE and Medical Opinion requests as per contracts.

This position offers the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere in the U.S., with travel requirements of 50% or more. You will be recognized and rewarded for your performance, with clear pathways for career development.

Required Qualifications
  • Licensed MD or DO
  • Current and unrestricted state license or ability to obtain licensure in the work state
  • Possession of a valid license under the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact, if applicable
  • Board certification in Psychiatry, Neurosurgery, Physiatry, or Neurology
  • Ability to perform detailed work accurately, demonstrate leadership, organizational skills, and multitasking
  • Availability to travel 50% or more for monthly assignments
  • Ability to work remotely when not traveling, completing ACE and IMO exams or other duties
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Flexibility to work in various environments, including mobile clinics, pop-up events, and with homebound patients
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified VA Compensation and Pension Examiner
  • Experience with VA disability evaluations and knowledge of VA quality and timeliness standards
  • Military or veteran healthcare experience
  • Leadership or supervisory experience
  • Adherence to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy for remote employees

The salary range for this role is $269,500 to $425,500 annually, based on full-time employment, experience, and performance. Benefits include comprehensive healthcare, incentive programs, stock purchase options, and a 401(k). Benefits are subject to eligibility.
