  • Ensure compliance with bus operating rules, policies, procedures, and federal regulations.

Job Profile Summary

This position reports to the Assistant Manager, Operations, and supervises bus operators and supports the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of bus transit services. Working closely with the Regional Operations Center (ROC), the role coordinates real-time service control, responds to incidents, and ensures on-time performance while maintaining strong communication between ROC staff and Operators. Responsibilities include monitoring system performance, making operational decisions to optimize service reliability, and supporting incident management to minimize disruptions. The position ensures compliance with operational and regulatory requirements, promotes positive customer experience, and collaborates on union-related matters to maintain a productive work environment. A strong commitment to safety and professional conduct is essential in all aspects of the role. This is a safety sensitive position subject to the rules and regulations of the RTD drug and alcohol policy.

ESSENTIAL
  • Supervise bus operators, including training, coaching, performance management, and ensuring equitable treatment.
  • Oversee daily bus operations by resolving operational issues, supporting operators, and ensuring safe, reliable service delivery.
  • Investigates accidents, incidents, disputes, disturbances, and customer complaints as assigned and in conjunction with dispatch and reschedules busses due to these disruptions in service. When investigating accidents, incidents, and potential substance abuse problems, assesses ability of operators to continue in service. Evaluates the severity of an accident scene and determines if the deployment of additional resources is required.
  • Maintain real-time communication with the Regional Operations Center to coordinate service adjustments and relay critical information.
  • Respond to service disruptions and emergencies, implementing operational solutions such as single-tracking, bus bridges, and medical response coordination.
  • Ensure compliance with bus operating rules, policies, procedures, and federal regulations, including conducting fit-for-duty observations.
  • Perform hazard analyses, safety assessments, and service reliability evaluations; monitor construction impacts and recommend operational adjustments.
  • Document incidents and operational decisions and prepare reports for safety, compliance, and performance improvement reviews.
  • Conduct inspections of stations, platforms, yards, and facilities to ensure safety, cleanliness, and operational readiness.
  • Support customer service by assisting passengers, monitoring rider behavior, and ensuring adherence to agency rules and standards.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, participate in committees, and support cross-functional initiatives to enhance rail operations and service performance.

This screening includes but may not be limited to: fingerprint-based checks of national crime information databases, and/or state child abuse and elder abuse registries for offenses that may impact the ability of the applicant to have unsupervised contact with vulnerable
