Job summary

CableCom in Benicia, CA is seeking a Supervisor Telecom Construction Underground to lead the FTTH in-home and SMB installation team overnight from 8pm to 6am. You will mentor technicians, manage schedules, and ensure quality with a focus on safety and efficiency.

The role requires at least 1 year in fiber optic or cable installation, a valid driver’s license, and a flexible, fast-paced mindset. Salaried position with competitive benefits and room for growth.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of FTTH in-home and SMB installation technicians.
• Coach, counsel, and evaluate performance of field staff.
• Coordinate scheduling, assist dispatch with daily job routing and ensure adequate staffing.
• Identify problem areas and communicate solutions to the Project Manager.
• Develop procedures to better organize the team/department.
• Assign duties and scope of authority to technicians.
• Assist in recruitment and training efforts.
• Track performance, tool and vehicle assignments, and consumables.
• Interface with customers to resolve complaints and damages from installation work.

The Supervisor Telecom Construction Underground will be responsible for a variety of tasks and projects as assigned. Typical tasks will range in size and complexity. This position will assist the Project Manager with various large scale projects and tasks as needed and may potentially take the lead on upcoming projects as assigned by the customer.

What you’ll do

Supervise a team of FTTH in-home and SMB installation technicians

Coach, counsel, and evaluate performance of field staff.

Coordinate scheduling, assist dispatch with daily job routing and ensure adequate staffing.

Identify problem areas in the department and communicate problems and possible solutions to the Project Manager.

Develop procedures and implement them to better organize the team/department.

Assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority to technicians.

Assist in recruitment and training efforts.

Assist in warehousing and logistics support as needed to supplement the warehouse staff

Establish, implement, and maintain operating standards and procedures for project reporting and documentation.

Track employee performance, tool assignments, vehicle assignments, uniforms, consumable items, etc. through the creation and use of spreadsheets and other documents

Perform quality control inspections to correct and coach any issues found

Interface with customers to resolve complaints and damages resulting from installation work

Perform various field technician duties as needed, including but not limited to, carrying and climbing a ladder when necessary.

Perform other duties not listed here, as they arise, and as they are assigned to you.

• Working hours are overnight from 8pm-6am

What you’ll need

Must have a minimum of 1 year fiber optic or cable installation experience.

Must be able to perform mandatory job site inspections to ensure employee compliance with all company safety policies and procedures.

Must have a high School Diploma or G.E.D.

Be able to work a very flexible schedule.

Willing and able to work in a fast paced time sensitive environment

Handle multiple tasks and last-minute changes

Posess exceptional customer service experiences

Be a team player.

Former supervisory experience a plus.

Valid driver's license with minimum of 2 years driving experience and a good driving record.

The wage range for Supervisor Telecom Construction Underground is$70,000.00 - $80,000.00.
