Job description

At VCI Construction, the Supervisor Telecom Construction Underground will oversee underground telecommunications construction, ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and project completion. The role requires a minimum of 8 years of construction supervisory experience in similar underground technologies, strong leadership, and the ability to manage large crews while maintaining solid relationships with staff, subcontractors, vendors, and consultants.

Responsibilities

• Walkout projects and submit Statements of Work totals
• Review and approve all production outputs
• Keep complete and submit job closeout packages
• Oversee vehicle and equipment needs and conditions, and manage employee performance
• Effectively write reports, internal site audits, and manage employee timesheets
• Review and interpret drawings and specifications
• Perform underground telecommunications construction tasks such as driving, loading, digging, equipment removal, material placement, restoration, and repair
• Operate or work near heavy machinery and construction tools safely
• Hand dig using shovels and mechanical tools
• Maintain a safe worksite, coordinating visually and audibly with the crew, equipment, and vehicles
• Restore property—including asphalt, concrete, sod, and landscaping—to its original state
• Travel to and from job sites as required
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of supervisory experience in aerial & underground utility construction
• Excellent communication skills at all levels
• Ability to perform and manage multiple tasks, projects, and prioritize responsibilities
• Good understanding of OSHA requirements and possession of OSHA 30 certification
• Excellent leadership skills
• Proficiency with Word, Google Docs, and Excel
• Valid C Driver’s License
• Knowledgeable in Underground Utilities Construction
• Capable of reading prints and line‑out crews
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States

The wage range for Supervisor Telecom Construction Underground is $75,000.00 - $95,000.00.
