Job summary

Ryder System in Hagerstown, Maryland is hiring a Shipping and Receiving Lead Associate to guide warehouse operations on the first shift. You will lead daily activities, coordinate shipments, and ensure safety and accuracy in receiving and packing processes.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead and ensure continuous improvement efforts for optimal efficiency of the operations.
• Perform warehouse function, which may include loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting.
• Allocate resources and organize and distribute daily work duties to members to ensure optimal shift/team operational logistics.
• Inspire and guide team members towards improved KPI’s using appropriate leadership styles.
• Assist in providing orientation and tools for employees to perform their jobs.
• Promote health and safety practices within the warehouse.
• Handle day-to-day paperwork (picking sheets, returns, bills of lading).
• Complete and submit daily reports and propose actions to enhance operations and service levels.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Hourly Pay $23.45 per hour
• Schedules: First Shift (A Shift) Sunday-Tuesday 7:00 am - 7:00 pm and every other Wednesday 7:00 am-7:00 pm

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• One (1) year or more powered industrial truck experience preferred
• One (1) year or more previous experience as Team Lead preferred
• One (1) year or more Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) preferred
• One (1) year or more previous warehouse experience preferred
• Knowledge and/or experience with an RF scanner advanced required
• Valid forklift operator's license certified
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Effective leadership skills
• Possesses flexibility to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
• Performs work independently with minimal supervision
