Job summary

Ryder is seeking a Warehouse Team Leader in Aberdeen, Maryland to drive efficiency and safety across a busy distribution site. The role includes leading daily tasks, coaching team members, and coordinating with warehouse operations to meet KPI targets.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year of warehouse leadership experience, strong communication skills, and familiarity with RF scanning and Microsoft Office. Excellent benefits and weekly pay are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1+ year powered industrial truck experience preferred.
• 1+ year previous team lead experience preferred.
• 1+ year Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) preferred.
• 1+ year previous warehouse experience preferred.
• Knowledge/experience with RF scanner required (advanced).
• Valid forklift operator's license certified.

Responsibilities

• Lead continuous improvement efforts for operational efficiency.
• Perform warehouse tasks: loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, cycle counting.
• Allocate resources and organize daily work duties for the shift/team.
• Inspire team members to improve KPI performance using leadership styles.
• Provide orientation and tools for employees to perform their jobs.
• Promote health and safety practices in the warehouse.
• Handle day-to-day warehouse paperwork (picking sheets, returns, BOLs).
• Submit daily reports and propose actions to enhance operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Hourly Pay: $20.67 per hour
• Overtime Pay $31.05 per hour
• Schedule: Wednesday-Saturday 5:00am-3:30pm & Sunday-Wednesday 5:00am-3:30pm

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• One (1) year or more powered industrial truck experience preferred
• One (1) year or more previous experience as Team Lead preferred
• One (1) year or more Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) preferred
• One (1) year or more previous warehouse experience preferred
• Knowledge and/or experience with an RF scanner advanced required
• Valid forklift operator's license certified

Responsibilities

• Lead and ensure continuous improvement efforts for optimal efficiency of the operations.
• Perform warehouse function, which may include loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and, cycle counting.
• Allocate resources and organize and distribute daily work duties to members to ensure optimal shift/team operational logistics.
• Inspire and guide team members towards improved Key Performance Indicator (KPI’s) using the appropriate leadership styles and methods.
• Assist in proving appropriate orientation for employees and give them the necessary information, technology and tools to perform their jobs.
• Assist with promoting health and safety working methods within the warehouse.
• Deal with day to day paperwork in a warehouse environment (i.e. picking sheets, returns, bills of lading, etc.).
• Complete and submit daily reports and propose action plans to enhance operations effectiveness and service levels.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
