Job summary

UNC Health in Chapel Hill is seeking a Supply Chain Services Supervisor to oversee the storeroom daily operations, drive efficiency, and maintain high levels of customer service for clinical and non-clinical departments.

You will issue and return materials, manage inventory levels, obtain vendor quotes, and supervise storeroom staff. The role ensures proper receiving, storage, QA, and documentation in the purchasing system while keeping a safe, organized work environment.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in supply chain operations, including one year in a supervisory role.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel; Lawson ERP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Issue and return materials from stock and support inventory control activities.
• Maintain a safe, clean storeroom environment and ensure proper storage.
• Manage inventory levels and procure materials for stock and non-stock use, including vendor contact and quotes.
• Supervise storeroom staff and ensure training in all processes.
• Provide high level customer service and effective communications.
• Ensure receipts, storage, and transport of materials are properly documented in the purchasing system.

Summary

The Supply Chain Services Supervisor manages the day- to-day operations of the storeroom to promote efficiency and effective business operations and/or patient care. Also, manages customer communication and supply chain processes to ensure optimal customer service standards are met.

Responsibilities

• Issue and return materials and supplies from the stock inventory or for special purchase items. Also conduct miscellaneous operations related to material inventory control, such as making an annual inventory and providing a monthly update for inventory.
• Maintains safe working environment. Ensures storeroom cleanliness.
• Manage inventory levels. Purchase of materials and supplies for stock and non-stock use by department employees. Includes vendor and manufacturer contact, obtaining quotes for materials and supplies and determining delivery times.
• Manages the storeroom operation and supervise the storeroom support staff. Ensures storeroom staff are trained in each phase of the work.
• Provides a high level of customer service.
• Supervises receipt, storage and transport of materials. Applies proper receiving, storage, QA and internal control processes. Ensures are transactions are documented as required into computerized purchasing and tracking software.

Education Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; higher-level degree may satisfy this requirement.

Licensure/Certification Requirements

• No licensure or certification required.

Professional Experience Requirements

• Three (3) years of experience in supply chain operations, including one (1) year of experience in a supervisory role preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Lawson ERP system.
