Job summary

UNC Health is seeking a Supply Chain Services Supervisor in Smithfield, NC to manage the day-to-day storeroom operations and support efficient business operations and patient care. You will oversee inventory control, vendor communications, and staff supervision to ensure timely, accurate processing of materials.

The role requires a minimum of 3 years in supply chain operations with at least 1 year in supervision, and a high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required.
• Three years of experience in supply chain operations, with supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Issue and return materials and supplies from stock; annual inventory and monthly inventory updates.
• Maintain storeroom safety and cleanliness.
• Manage inventory levels; purchase materials for stock and non-stock use; obtain quotes and determine delivery times.
• Supervise storeroom operations and staff; ensure training across all phases.
• Provide a high level of customer service.
• Oversee receiving, storage and transport; ensure QA and internal control; document transactions in purchasing software.

Summary

The Supply Chain Services Supervisor manages the day- to-day operations of the storeroom to promote efficiency and effective business operations and/or patient care. Also, manages customer communication and supply chain processes to ensure optimal customer service standards are met.

Responsibilities

• Issue and return materials and supplies from the stock inventory or for special purchase items. Also conduct miscellaneous operations related to material inventory control, such as making an annual inventory and providing a monthly update for inventory.
• Maintains safe working environment. Ensures storeroom cleanliness.
• Manage inventory levels. Purchase of materials and supplies for stock and non-stock use by department employees. Includes vendor and manufacturer contact, obtaining quotes for materials and supplies and determining delivery times.
• Manages the storeroom operation and supervise the storeroom support staff. Ensures storeroom staff are trained in each phase of the work.
• Provides a high level of customer service.
• Supervises receipt, storage and transport of materials. Applies proper receiving, storage, QA and internal control processes. Ensures are transactions are documented as required into computerized purchasing and tracking software.

• High school diploma or GED required; higher-level degree may satisfy this requirement.

Professional Experience Requirements

• Three (3) years of experience in supply chain operations, including one (1) year of experience in a supervisory role preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Lawson ERP system.
