Georgia Transmission Corporation seeks an experienced Substation Design Engineering leader to direct the preparation and integrity of all substation design products and services. You will oversee project delivery, allocate resources, manage CAD and BOM processes, and supervise the As-built and design review processes.
The role requires a BS in Engineering (Electrical or Civil), a decade in electric utilities with at least six years in substation design, and a PE license where applicable.
Directs the preparation, integrity, and distribution of all Substation Design products and services associated with the physical design of substation projects. Supervises the timely completion of all project deliverables such as transmission and distribution design projects, allocates design resources to upcoming projects, oversight of the design standards and their incorporation into the AutoCadd design center, Administrates the GTC Bill of Material Tool (BOM) which identifies the bulk of substation components used in project design and construction, oversight of the As-built process related to the physical designs of substations, provides Quality Control by performing design reviews for project designs and project estimates. Supervises the timely response to all requests from internal and external entities relating to Substation Design physical design issues which include but not limited to emergency, corrective, and routine maintenance, and coordination with Relay & Control. Manages assignments in terms of general objectives and limits. Supports team goals and objectives with the supervision of staff by coordinating work activities and reviewing of technical work products. Acts as a liaison with individuals and departments within and outside of the Corporation on matters pertaining to Substation Physical Design. Ensures staff compliance with established Substation Design policies, guidelines and procedures. Promotes an environment of continuous improvement to meet corporate goals and objectives.
