Baystate Health in Springfield, MA seeks a Supervisor for the Sterile Processing Department (SPD) Operations at Baystate Medical Center. The role directs daily SPD flow, staffing and readiness, while guiding technicians and service coordinators.
It requires 3+ years leading sterile processing with CRCST or equivalent and strong coaching skills. You will support performance appraisals, policy adherence and process improvements, fostering trust and collaboration across teams.
Under the direction of the SPD Manager, is responsible for the daily operational flow, staffing, scheduling, training, and discipline. Assists manager with input for staff evaluation and performance. Maintain quality assurance, assign work, and coordinated activities of Sterile Processing Technicians and Service Coordinators. Coordinate and assist in readiness. Ensure work is carried out in accordance with established policies and procedures. Perform duties of a Sterile Processing Technician as needed.
Minimally Required Experience: 3+ years of demonstrated leadership with a background in sterile processing. (CRCST or equivalent) plus one specialty (e.g., Certified Endoscope Preprocessor, Certified Instrument Specialist, or Certified Healthcare Leader).
SPD Operations Supervisor possesses expertise in the theory and application of sterile processing and modalities, aseptic techniques, surgical procedures, implementation tools, and technologies. The SPD Operations Supervisor contributes to the department workflow utilizing conflict resolution, communication, and leadership skills.

Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries may vary by position and will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range. Pay ranges are listed as hourly for non-exempt employees and based on assumed full time commitment for exempt employees.
