Job summary

Entergy seeks a Supervisory role in Relay Settings to lead engineering staff in relay settings and DFR configurations. You will ensure project objectives, regulatory compliance, and adherence to schedules and budgets while coordinating with grids, distribution and project development teams.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and at least seven years of leadership experience in relay settings, with strong communication and project management skills.

  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multi-projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct supervision to an engineering staff of relay settings and DFR configuration personnel, including coaching, training, effective resource management, providing technical guidance and quality assurance.
  • Evaluates the resource levels required for current and future workloads; assigns company and contractor staff to accomplish effectively; manages consultants, including scope preparation, bid evaluation, cost tracking, invoice approval and processing, and release order preparation.
  • Has system-wide responsibility and actively participates on several jurisdictional teams of supervisors with other functional area supervisors to enhance communication and coordination within the project organization.
  • Serves as the primary contact for the Grids, Distribution and Project Development for settings and configuration evaluations, proposals and estimates for studies, customer requests, maintenance and potential projects; serves as the technical expert in settings-related issues for the system.
  • Develops, maintains and implements relay design standards.
  • Responds to relay related regulatory and compliance issues.

Job Summary/Purpose

Provides leadership for the engineering activities within Relay Settings, including technical relay settings and DFR configurations. The position supervises employees who prepare the system models, system studies, project scopes, relay settings, DFR configurations, and complete as-built documentation. The supervisor ensures that projects achieve stated objectives, are implemented in accordance with regulatory requirements and company standards, meet established schedules and are completed within approved authorizations and budgets.

Job Duties/Responsibilities
  • Provides direct supervision to an engineering staff of relay settings and DFR configuration personnel, including coaching, training, effective resource management, providing technical guidance and quality assurance.

Minimum education required of the position

Bachelor's degree in Engineering.

Minimumexperience required of the position

Minimum of seven (7) years of experience with proven leadership capabilities.

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position

Extensive knowledge of relay settings and DFR Configuration/SCADA practices, standards, procedures and processes; Thorough understanding of design, planning, project management, operations and/or construction. Experience in managing/executing capital and/or O&M projects. Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multi-projects simultaneously. Capable of moving frequently between multiple tasks, while prioritizing conflicting priorities. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with superiors, colleagues and individuals inside and outside the Company. Strong analytical, problem solving and documentation skills. Excellent interpersonal skills; team player. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint), budgets, financial procedures, and property accounting.

Any certificates, licenses, etc. required of the position

Professional Engineering license desired (will vary state by state on requirements; higher management having PE could eliminate the need at lower level).
