Job summary

The Laurels of Mt. Vernon is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor for the Night Shift (7p–7a) to lead and mentor skilled nursing staff.

This role focuses on planning, coordinating, and managing nursing care and health education for residents in a long-term care setting. You will work with RNs, LPNs, and CNAs to ensure high-quality resident care, implement procedures, and contribute to care plans.

Qualifications

• RN with supervisory experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing is preferred.
• Knowledge of nursing procedures and patient care planning.
• Ability to teach and mentor nursing staff and care aides.

Responsibilities

• Supervises nursing care provided by RNs, LPNs, and CNAs.
• Reviews and implements all nursing procedures and systems.
• Assesses and evaluates systems to ensure quality resident care and staff performance.
• Contributes to residents’ assessments and care planning (MDS/CAA).
• Develops and implements care plans based on assessments and nursing interventions.
• Evaluates residents’ responses to treatments and medications.

What you'll be doing:

• Some responsibilities of the RN shift supervisorinclude:
• Supervises nursing care provided by Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing assistants and others
• Reviews and implements all nursing procedures and systems.
• Assesses and evaluates the systems which facilitate the delivery of quality Resident care and performance of staff
• Uses a systematic approach in the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care.
• Contributes to the Resident’s assessment (MDS/CAA’s) and the development of a plane of care.
• Develops a plan of care based on assessment, implementing nursing care.
• Evaluates the Resident’s responses to nursing interventions.
• Knows the rational for the effect of medications and treatments and correctly administer same

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

• ADN or BSN.
• Current state license to practice as a nurse., RN
• Current CPR certification and additional certification in nursing specialty desired.
• Management or supervisor experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing desired.
• Demonstrates knowledge of basic nursing practice with an interest in gerontological nursing.
