AAON, Inc. is seeking a QA Supervisor to lead quality assurance technicians and uphold AAON quality standards in a manufacturing environment.

The role coordinates inspections, CAPA-driven improvements, and collaboration with production and engineering teams to ensure accurate documentation and conformance with design specifications. The ideal candidate holds a BS degree with at least 7 years in quality, and may have ASQ/ISO/Lean/ SPC certifications.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in a related field; advanced education considered for growth.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant industry experience.
  • ASQ Certification, ISO, Lean, SPC, and Continuous Improvement experience preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher desirable, or willingness to pursue.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises quality assurance technicians to ensure accurate documentation, support, and quality management.
  • Uses CAPA findings and metrics to drive continuous improvement projects; assigns tasks and monitors progress.
  • Signs off on QA team leaders after training completion and reports to HR and Production.
  • Ensures adherence to company quality standards and design specifications; oversees inspection and testing staff.
  • Coordinates audits and inspections; serves as a technical resource for trainers and production staff.
  • Conducts meetings with internal and external suppliers and customers to review quality findings; travels as needed.

Job description

Job Description: Supervise quality assurance technicians to ensure accurate documentation, support, and quality management. Collaborate with production, manufacturing engineers, and engineering to document processes, clarify responsibilities, identify improvements, and maintain AAON quality standards.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Utilizes CAPA findings and quality metrics to initiate continuous improvement projects, assigns tasks to staff, and monitors progress and outcomes, adjusting and expanding projects as necessary. Provides final approval for quality team leaders who completed required training, reporting to HR and Production. Ensures team adherence to company quality standards, timely product completion, and adherence to design specifications. Supervises inspection and testing personnel to maintain standards and productivity. Coordinates team schedules for audits and inspections, serving as a technical resource for trainers and production staff. Conducts meetings with internal and external suppliers and customers to review quality findings, traveling as needed.

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • BS degree in a related field, with additional education considered advantageous for career growth activities.
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant industry experience is required.
  • Experience in Quality, ASQ Certification, ISO, Lean, Statistical Process Control, and Continuous Improvement methodologies preferred.
  • Additionally, certification as a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher is desirable, or the willingness to pursue such certification.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong leadership and managerial abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • In-depth knowledge of quality assurance principles and methodologies
  • Proficiency in Word and Excel required; experience with Publisher, Visio, and PowerBi preferred.
Essential Physical Functions:
  • Must be able to stand and sit for extended periods.
  • Walk up and down stairs.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
Work Environment:

Requires periodic visits to manufacturing facility with seasonal hot and cold temperatures, dust, and some chemical fume exposure. Required to wear proper personal protective equipment.
