Summary
We are seeking an experienced and driven Supervisor, Quality Assurance II to join our dynamic Quality team. This position is responsible for leading daily floor quality assurance operations, managing the Sell-Off Process, and ensuring that final inspections, quality documentation, and government submissions are completed in strict compliance with AS9100, contractual, and regulatory requirements.
The Supervisor will coordinate Government Source Inspections (GSI), oversee inspection efforts across integration sites, and act as a key liaison with DCMA representatives. The ideal candidate will have strong aerospace quality experience, demonstrated success in DCMA interactions, and an ability to interpret and enforce FAR/DFARS contractual quality clauses and flow-downs.
Position Responsibilities
Lead day-to-day floor quality assurance activities to ensure product conformance to internal and external requirements.
Manage and oversee the Sell-Off Process, ensuring alignment with customer, contractual, and AS9100 quality standards.
Supervise the final inspection team, validating that Certificates of Conformance (CofCs), Inventory Sheets, Test Data Reports, and other deliverables meet required standards.
Coordinate and manage GSI scheduling, execution, and act as the primary liaison with DCMA and external stakeholders.
Interpret and ensure strict adherence to FAR/DFARS clauses, contract-specific quality clauses, and flow-downs during final acceptance activities.
Support and lead internal and external audits, customer source inspections, and government surveillance activities.
Oversee integration site quality assurance activities to ensure consistent application of quality standards across multiple facilities.
Administer the Calibration Program, maintaining scheduling, documentation, and audit readiness for all measurement and test equipment.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues, mitigate risk, and support on-time delivery performance.
Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and controlled quality documents.
Train, coach, and develop inspection personnel, fostering a high-performance and quality-driven team environment.
Lead and implement continuous improvement initiatives using data-driven analysis, trend identification, and RCCA methodologies.
Champion a culture of ownership, accountability, and compliance within the Quality organization.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)
Min 5 years of experience in a Quality, Manufacturing, or Aerospace leadership role
At least 1-2 years of experience in a people leadership role
Extensive knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, and AS9102 standards, with experience managing audits and compliance activities.
Hands-on experience with DCMA interactions, Government Source Inspections (GSI), and government quality processes.
Strong working knowledge of FAR/DFARS requirements and their flow-down into supplier and product quality activities.
Proficient in submitting quality documentation through GSI portals and WAWF (Wide Area Workflow).
Ability to interpret technical drawings, engineering specifications, and quality documentation packages.
Knowledgeable understanding of dimensional inspection techniques and proficiency with precision measurement tools.
Proficient in ASME Y14.5 (GD&T) standards and mechanical inspection practices.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility across cross-functional teams.
Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and proven problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.

Special Requirements
U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card holder) or asylee/refugee status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) required.
Occasional travel within the Continental U.S. may be required.
The salary range for this role is:
$88,000 - $124,740AeroVironment considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the location, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
