Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, or Business plus 5+ years of leadership in manufacturing or quality.
• Strong knowledge of quality systems, inspections, audits, root cause analysis, corrective actions and continuous improvement.
• Experience applying Lean principles (5S, Kaizen, Visual Management, Poka-Yoke, waste reduction) to improve plant performance.
• Proven ability to coach, develop and empower employees while promoting safety and accountability.
• Excellent communication, collaboration across functions, and data-driven problem solving.
• KPIs including defects, productivity, attendance, overtime, COPQ with action plans.
• Hands-on leadership on the production floor, supporting multiple shifts and flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily activities of Quality Team Leaders and Inspectors to meet quality targets and customer specs.
• Foster safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement across the department and manufacturing operations.
• Conduct audits, process reviews, and facility assessments to ensure compliance with standards and procedures.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and Production to investigate issues, identify root causes, and implement CAPA.

Position Summary

The Quality Supervisor is responsible for leading and developing the Quality team while ensuring products, processes, and materials meet established quality standards. This role partners closely with Operations, Engineering, and Production teams to drive continuous improvement, resolve quality concerns, improve manufacturing performance, and support a culture focused on safety, quality, accountability, and operational excellence. The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader who thrives on the production floor, develops talent, drives results through influence, and promotes a proactive quality culture throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the daily activities of Quality Team Leaders and Quality Inspectors to ensure quality expectations, production goals, and customer requirements are achieved.


• Drive a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the department and manufacturing operations.


• Conduct quality audits, process reviews, and facility assessments to ensure compliance with quality standards, specifications, and procedures.


• Partner with Engineering, Operations, and Production teams to investigate quality concerns, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.


• Lead continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing tools and methodologies, including 5S, Kaizen, Visual Management, Root Cause Analysis, Poka-Yoke, and waste reduction strategies.


• Monitor, analyze, and communicate key performance indicators (KPIs), including defects, attendance, overtime, productivity, and Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ), while developing action plans to achieve targeted results.


• Support and participate in internal quality audits, including Layered Process Audits (LPA) and Product Audits.


• Recruit, train, coach, mentor, and develop team members to build a high-performing and engaged workforce.


• Manage employee performance through goal setting, feedback, performance evaluations, recognition, corrective action, and employee development planning.


• Ensure proper staffing, scheduling, attendance management, and payroll/timekeeping administration through systems such as ADP.


• Prepare and present reports regarding quality performance, departmental activities, audit findings, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.


• Perform additional duties and special projects assigned in support of business objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred, along with 5+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing, quality, or industrial environment leading teams, driving accountability, and achieving operational results.


• Strong knowledge of quality systems, inspection processes, audits, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement methodologies, with experience leading quality initiatives in a high-volume manufacturing environment.


• Experience utilizing Lean Manufacturing principles, including 5S, Kaizen, Visual Management, Poka-Yoke, and waste reduction strategies to improve quality, efficiency, and overall plant performance.


• Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, mentor, and develop employees while fostering a culture of safety, quality, accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.


• Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization, influence positive change, and drive performance through data-driven decision-making.


• Proven experience managing key performance indicators (KPIs), including quality defects, productivity, attendance, overtime, and Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ), while developing action plans to improve results and meet business objectives.


• Hands-on leadership style with a strong presence on the production floor and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, support multiple shifts as needed, maintain excellent attendance, and work flexible hours to support business demands.
