Position
The Quality Supervisor is responsible for leading Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) activities to ensure compliance with customer requirements, regulatory standards, and internal quality objectives. This is a hands‑on leadership role requiring a strong presence on the production floor, working closely with operations, engineering, and quality personnel to drive continuous improvement and maintain a "Right First Time" quality culture.
The role provides leadership to the quality team, including QualityInspectors and Welding Quality resources, while supporting quality throughout the manufacturing lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Management & Compliance
- Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO requirements and customer expectations.
- Lead internal, external, customer, and certification audits.
- Manage NCRs, CARs, root cause investigations, and corrective actions.
- Monitor quality KPIs and report quality performance to management.
- Ensure procedures, records, data books, and quality documentation remain compliant and up to date.
- Conduct internal audits and support supplier quality assessments when required.
Production Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Spend significant time on the production floor supporting manufacturing teams.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve quality issues through practical corrective actions.
- Monitor quality trends, defects, rework, and customer complaints, implementing improvement initiatives.
- Support production and engineering teams with quality troubleshooting and problem solving.
- Ensure inspection activities are completed, documented, and compliant with project requirements.
- Promote a proactive quality culture focused on prevention and continuous improvement.
- Lead, coach, and develop QualityInspectors and quality personnel.
- Coordinate inspection activities and ensure effective quality coverage across operations.
- Maintain training records and competency matrices.
- Deliver quality-related training and awareness programs where required.
Project & Technical Support
- Participate in project reviews to ensure customer and regulatory quality requirements are understood and met.
- Support compliance with applicable standards and specifications.
- Ensure welding procedures, qualifications, and quality documentation are available before production begins.
- Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to deliver practical, compliant, and cost‑effective quality solutions.
Qualifications and Experience
Education
- Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or other relevant technical qualification preferred.
Experience
- 4 to 6 years' experience in a Quality Supervisor, Quality Manager, or similar leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in heavy fabrication, industrial equipment, pressure vessel, or related manufacturing sectors is desirable.
- Authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
Technical Knowledge
- Familiarity with ISO quality systems, ASME, ASME BPE, PED, GMP, and GDP requirements.
- Working knowledge of fabrication, welding, inspection, and manufacturing processes.
- Hands‑on leadership style with strong shop‑floor engagement.
- Strong problem‑solving and root cause analysis skills.
- Excellent communication and cross‑functional collaboration.
- Ability to balance operational quality support with strategic quality initiatives.
