Job summary

Hartford HealthCare's Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain is seeking a Supervisor of Public Safety to provide direct front-line leadership for Public Safety Officers and Dispatchers, ensuring a professional, safe and secure environment for colleagues, clinicians, customers and visitors.

The role supports the Director with daily operations, coaching staff, and providing training; specialized knowledge in public safety, emergency procedures, and security is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; an Associate degree is preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• CT Guard Card valid.
• English reading/writing/speaking required; multilingual preferred.
• Three to four years of relevant public safety experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide front-line leadership and oversight for Public Safety Officers and Dispatchers.
• Deliver a safe and secure environment for colleagues, clinicians, customers and visitors.
• Coach and mentor staff to meet daily performance goals and participate in training.
• Support the Director/Manager with daily operational activities.

Job Summary

The Supervisor of Public Safety provides working, direct front-line leadership and oversight for Public operations with its Public Safety Officers and Dispatchers. The Supervisor builds, improves and works to deliver a professional, safe and secure environment for the hospital including its colleagues, clinicians, customers and visitors. This Supervisor assists the Director or Manager of Public Safety with the performance of daily operational activities ensuring a customer oriented focus and compliance with department policies and procedures. The Supervisor coaches and mentors current and new colleagues to achieve daily performance expectations, personal and annual department goals. The Supervisor may also provide other training and continuing education.

This position requires specialized skills, knowledge and the subject matter expertise related to public safety, security, dispatching criminal procedure and emergency preparedness.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED required, Associates degree in related field preferred
• Valid driver’s license required
• Valid CT Guard Card required
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English required, Multilingual preferred
• Three (3) years of relevant experience in public safety, emergency medical services, fire required, (4) years preferred
