Job summary

GROWSCAPE seeks a hands-on Manufacturing Supervisor in Ohio (Middlefield) to oversee start-up and daily operations on a 12-hour shift cycle. You will supervise maintenance, track KPIs, train new staff, and ensure quality and safety compliance across assigned departments.

The role requires strong writing and verbal communication, plus the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while adhering to company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Understand the manufacturing process related to equipment start-up and operations.
• Supervise routine maintenance and troubleshoot equipment; monitor KPIs daily.
• Lead training for new employees on production, lockout-tag out, forklift, and safety.
• Enter production data into Work Order system and verify shifts match reports.
• Direct daily shift production ensuring product quality and adherence to specs.
• Complete administrative paperwork and support performance reviews and supervisory tasks.
• Lead toolbox talks daily and enforce company policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand the manufacturing process as it relates to equipment start-up and operations
• Supervise minor routine maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment and ensure root cause corrections and participate in performance of these processes; Monitor, maintain and improve key performance indicators daily
• Lead training effort of new employees as it relates to production, operation, lockout-tag out, forklift, and other business needs
• Accurately track and enter production data into the Work Order system and verify shift production matches the induction report
• Direct daily shift production of assigned departments and ensure all product meets quality specifications
• Accurately complete all administrative paperwork
• Achieve business goals in areas like safety, quality, delivery, and cost
• Assist with performance reviews, plus other supervisory activities
• Lead tool box meetings daily
• Support all company policies and procedures
• Execute coaching and corrective discipline
• Ensure compliance of direct reports to all policies and procedures of The HC Companies.
• Lead by example and perform all job duties in accordance with The HC Companies values
• Perform other administrative tasks and special projects as assigned

Shift Times

• Days: 6:40am – 7:00pm
• Nights: 6:40pm – 7:00am

Qualifications

• Must possess process troubleshooting skills to respond to and drive performance/people development
• Must have a good working knowledge of production processes within a manufacturing environment
• Must be a hands-on leader with strong writing and verbal communication skills and possess good communication/interpersonal skills and get along well with others
• Must be able to read production schedule compliance
