Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a seasoned manufacturing supervisor to lead production leads and operators on the main floor, ensuring schedule attainment and rapid resolution of material constraints. You will own staffing, cross-training, safety investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.

You will partner with engineering for new product introductions, manage attendance across shifts, and ensure adherence to labor policies while driving throughput and quality improvements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
• Strong people-leadership skills, including coaching, performance management, and conflict resolution.
• Lean manufacturing/continuous improvement experience, including 5S, Kaizen, or Six Sigma preferred.
• Ability to lead multiple production areas or teams simultaneously across differing processes.
• Strong communication skills across all levels; comfortable presenting floor metrics and status to leadership.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise production leads and operators on the main manufacturing floor, with potential oversight of Sub-Assembly, Silk Screen, and SW Manufacturing.
• Drive daily schedule attainment across shifts and resolve material shortages or production constraints with Materials/Master Scheduling.
• Own staffing, shift coverage, and cross-training plans.
• Enforce safety standards and lead incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Monitor first-pass yield, scrap, and rework metrics and partner with Quality on root-cause analysis.
• Coach employees, conduct one-on-ones, manage performance documentation, and develop leads/operators.
• Lead daily tier meetings and floor walks; communicate production status, risks, and blockers to Operations leadership.
• Drive continuous improvement and lean initiatives to increase throughput and reduce changeover time.
• Partner with Engineering on New Product Introduction ramps.
• Ensure the floor can absorb rapid configuration changeovers driven by build-to-order demand and high SKU variation.
• Manage attendance, timekeeping, and adherence to labor and workplace policies.
• Escalate material, equipment, or staffing constraints that threaten schedule attainment.

Requirements

• 5+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing/production environment
• High school diploma or GED required
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
• Experience with ERP/MES systems; SAP preferred
• Strong people-leadership skills, including coaching, performance management, and conflict resolution
• Lean manufacturing/continuous improvement experience, including 5S, Kaizen, or Six Sigma preferred
• Ability to lead multiple production areas or teams simultaneously across differing processes
• Strong communication skills across all levels; comfortable presenting floor metrics and status to leadership
• Flexibility to support multiple shifts as production needs require
• Technical background in software duplication and technical systems desired
