Job description

General Purpose:
Accountable for understanding the business and translating commitments into day-to-day activities that achieve business results.

This is a 2nd Shift position.

Responsibilities:

1. Assure adequate workforce planning to achieve production goals.
2. Implement and support self-managed teams.
3. Guarantee the safety of your work area and team members by adhering to safety policies and procedures, and promoting a safety mindset.
4. Ensure all products meet quality requirements through education, quality checks, and measures.
5. Collaborate with others in the organization to meet takt times and delivery goals.
6. Ensure team members have the necessary tools and knowledge to meet demands.
7. Set performance expectations, conduct 1:1 coaching, and perform evaluations for performance, behaviors, and development plans.
8. Meet and exceed all cost standards, continuously seeking leaner and lower-cost processes, including waste reduction.
9. Communicate effectively both inward and outward to your team and the business.
10. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions:

Education, Training, and Skills Required:

• High school diploma or GED; 3+ years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination.
• College degree in a related field preferred but not required.
• Ability to work in teams with high adaptability and flexibility.
• Strong desire to learn new skills and knowledge.
• Dependability, work ethic, and dedication to quality work.
• System skills: Microsoft Office, Outlook, ERP/MRP, CRM, etc.
• Knowledge of Lean/5S concepts.
• Understanding of basic production work instructions.
• Analytical skills including troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Effective communication skills with respect and care for colleagues.
• Minimal travel may be required.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to see and hear alarms, follow verbal instructions, and wear PPE.
• Ability to tolerate environments with chemicals and materials within OSHA guidelines.
• Ability to climb up and down 8 stairs.

Work Environment:

• Responsible for handling hazardous waste in compliance with regulations.
• Potential exposure to toxic chemicals and noise levels requiring PPE.
