  • Review the daily shift schedule to verify all machine centers are manned properly and safely.
  • Review work center schedule and ensure the jobs are lined up for maximum efficiency to eliminate unnecessary set-up/down time.
  • Meet daily with plant management and scheduling to ensure all necessary production/scheduling information for each particular day is communicated.
  • Monitor employees to ensure that all safety regulations are followed, and ensure all employees complete required safety training.
  • Review material consumption reports daily to ensure that outside purchased sheets, master packers, and roll stock are being consumed properly by work centers.

  • Responsible for Lean Manufacturing at the machine centers. This includes work center auditing; holding meetings as needed with 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift crews to ensure Lean practices are followed; and holding general training sessions in Lean manufacturing for employees that lack this specific skill set.
  • Adjust work center schedules according to unplanned for customer demands and needs, with the caveat that jobs that are pushed back in the line-up will not harm other customer relationships.
  • Responsible to cover machine center overtime when called upon by the plant manager to do so.
  • Responsible to schedule overtime when unforeseen occurrences or customer demand dictates.
  • Responsible to schedule machine clean ups with plant management as needed.
  • Assist machine operators with quality control to ensure the product that leaves the building meets Menasha’s specified standard of quality.
  • Ensure all maintenance work orders on the shift for machine repair, tooling repair or machine maintenance are filled out by the proper employees and then acted upon by the proper department in a timely matter.
  • Assist any employee that suffers an injury on the job. This includes deciding upon the proper medical care (i.e. whether it is an emergency room incident), documenting the incident and then in turn, investigating the root causes of the incident to prevent further occurrences.
  • Provide and maintain training for machine center tasks and Standard Operating Procedures as needed
  • Utilize the skill sets of the shift employees in the proper manner to ensure the right employees with the proper skill sets are doing the tasks they are best suited to do.
  • Responsible to communicate with other departments when errors occur that effect or alter a job or product. This includes following through to ensure all errors have been addressed and/or corrected.
  • Responsible to keep track of shift production and downtime statistics. This is to verify that runtimes are efficient, downtimes are minimized and company goals are being met.

Knowledge:

3. Attributes:
