WM is seeking a Shift Supervisor in Sparks, Nevada, to oversee designated incinerator operations and ensure all safety and environmental compliance regulations are met. A High School Diploma or GED, along with 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, is required. Pay & Schedule

Pay Rate: $90,000.00

Shift: D Crew, 5 PM to 5 AM, Weekly: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and every other Wednesday.

Job Summary

Oversees a designated incinerator operations shift to ensure productivity goals are achieved while maintaining compliance with all applicable safety, health, and environmental compliance regulations, and all WMHS policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversee all Operators and Plant Workers for designated shift and Custodian activities.
  • Ensure all plant personnel perform their tasks safely with proper techniques, while utilizing all PPE and other safety equipment at all times.
  • Assists in the training and development of operations shift personnel in the performance of their job duties.
  • Assists in establishing, communicating, and driving shift performance goals.
  • Provides shift and individual performance feedback to the appropriate manager.
  • Monitors operations and shift team metrics to recommend, where necessary, changes in processing methods, operational procedures, and personnel utilization to maintain production efficiency.
  • Monitors and ensures that team members adhere to all Safety, Health, and Environmental compliance regulations and all WMHS policies and procedures.
  • Communicates to the Operations Manager all issues, concerns, and shift team recommendations regarding safety, compliance, and productivity.
  • Initiates actions to ensure timely resolution of identified hazards or unsafe conditions or practices.
  • Reports all maintenance issues through the work order system to ensure that issues are identified and corrected.
  • Interfaces proactively with personnel to achieve business goals.
  • Performs periodic facility audits and reviews of all applicable regulatory paperwork.
  • Ensures the incinerator waste feed rate and blending are performed properly to maintain correct incinerator temperatures and maximize throughput.
  • Monitors incinerators and steam systems, ash removal system, ash quality, and Air Pollution Control system parameters—including temperatures, pH, absorber flow rate, reagent feed rates, differential pressures, and other system parameters—to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations are maintained. Reports any issues identified to the appropriate manager/supervisor.
  • Completes all necessary logging and reporting documents neatly and accurately and files according to procedure.
  • Leads meetings and communication for pre‑shift and change‑over with teams, sharing important information about performance and potential issues.
  • Has knowledge and ability to perform all other roles and responsibilities at the location.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED (accredited).
  • 3+ years related experience or training in a plant or manufacturing environment, demonstrating strong communication skills and tact.
  • One or more years of experience managing staff, preferably in a plant or manufacturing environment.
