Job Summary
Under direction of the Maintenance Manager, plan and perform all maintenance functions, including but not limited to preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on all equipment throughout the plant. Install, troubleshoot and maintain all plant equipment in proper operating condition by applying safe workplace practices, following preventive maintenance programs and procedures, and developing/documenting best‑industry practices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic evaluation on equipment and make repairs when needed, ensuring repairs are performed safely, properly, and efficiently to maintain operational readiness.
- Oversee workflow and set priorities within the maintenance shop, plan and schedule all in‑house repairs, and lead the maintenance team and outside contractors.
- Safely perform or guide preventive, corrective, and scheduled maintenance on a daily basis on a variety of machinery within the plant, including fire tube boiler, steam delivery systems, water treatment equipment, air handling equipment, commercial washers, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and conveyor systems.
- Maintain incinerator process equipment and systems, including burners, CEMs, high temperature refractory, controls, PLC, combustion air blowers, pressure controls, and conveyance systems.
- Maintain steam turbine and electrical generator systems.
- Maintain air pollution control devices, such as bag houses, evaporative coolers, acid absorbers, and carbon beds.
- Maintain general air pneumatics, including air compressor, regulators, solenoid valves, 2‑way and 3‑way valves, tubing installation, pneumatic pumps, and related systems.
- Perform light electrical maintenance on all plant equipment, covering 480V/240V/120V/24V power systems.
- Document results through completed work orders based on schedule and priority.
- Provide training, direction, and assistance to Technicians, Operators, and Laborers as needed.
- Support Stericycle’s commitment to Safety by complying with safety regulations and maintaining clean and orderly work areas.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED (accredited) equivalent.
- 3 years of related experience or training in a plant or manufacturing environment, demonstrating strong communication skills and tact.
- 4 years or more of related experience and/or training, demonstrating the ability to identify needed repairs and ensure scheduled production run is met.
- 1 year of experience overseeing the work of others.
