Job summary

Samaritan Health Services’ Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis is seeking a supervisor for the Physical Rehab front office staff. You will support leadership, hire, orient, train, supervise and evaluate the Rehab support team, and you may perform all responsibilities of the front office.

The Rehabilitation department provides multidisciplinary care from pediatrics to geriatrics, with advanced equipment and patient-centered scheduling.

Qualifications

• Two years of medical office organization and billing experience required.
• Experience or training with MS Office required.
• Healthcare Provider Level BLS required upon hire.
• Previous experience as a physical therapy aide preferred.

This position will be supervising multiple front office teams in the Corvallis area.

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

Assists leadership and may function independently in hiring, orienting, training, supervising and evaluating the Physical Rehab support staff. Must be able to perform all responsibilities of the Physical Rehab support staff.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

The Rehabilitation teams at Samaritan evaluate and treat patients with injuries or conditions that have caused either a decline in self-care, physical mobility or functional independence. We are a collaborative multi-disciplinary team of therapists offering cutting-edge, evidence based practice and compassionate individualized treatment. We provide specialty care from pediatrics to geriatrics, from neurological to women's health, from lymphedema care to wheelchair fitting and more. Our acute services are centered out of Samaritan's Regional Medical system, a 160 bed, level 2 trauma center. Our hub status affords us a complex patient census that is among the state's top 5 in acuity. Our outpatient clinic features cutting edge equipment, a therapy pool with an underwater treadmill and separate adult and pediatric gyms. We also offer outpatient services at the Pastega Regional Cancer Center. All outpatient services are one-on-one and feature therapist-driven treatment times.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS

Two (2) years previous experience in medical office organization and billing practices required.

Experience or training with MS Office required.

Healthcare Provider Level BLS required upon hire.

Previous experience as a physical therapy aide preferred.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

Clerical - Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.

Communication - Effective written and oral communication skills to explain complex issues, exchange information between team members, and tactfully discuss issues. Ability to perform group presentations and listen to and understand complex information and ideas.

Customer Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

Time Management - Ability to organize, plan and prioritize work to complete within required time frames and to follow-up on pending issues. Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and thrive in dynamic fast-paced environments and under pressure.

Confidentiality - Knowledge of State and Federal (HIPAA) laws pertaining to confidentiality of protected health information. Ability to comply with laws and maintain confidentiality of patient information.

Medical Terminology - Knowledge of medical records, procedures and terminology. Ability to read, interpret, and apply policies, procedures, laws, and regulations.
