The Pharmacy Fulfillment Supervisor is a frontline operations leader responsible for supporting the Sr. Pharmacy Fulfillment Manager in the daily execution of pharmacy fulfillment operations. This role leads assigned team members, manages day-to-day workflow and staffing, monitors quality and productivity, resolves operational issues, and reinforces standard work and company expectations. The Supervisor serves as the primary operational backup for the Sr. Pharmacy Fulfillment Manager and is expected to assume day-to-day department leadership during the Sr. Manager's absence, within delegated authority and in partnership with the appropriate pharmacy leadership. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, solutions-oriented, and comfortable leading people in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Responsibilities

Daily Operations & Workflow Management

• Lead daily fulfillment activities for assigned shifts or work areas, ensuring orders are processed accurately, efficiently, and within expected service timelines.
• Assign work, balance staffing across functions, adjust priorities based on volume and operational needs, and ensure timely completion of critical work.
• Monitor workflow throughout the day and proactively address bottlenecks, backlogs, staffing gaps, equipment issues, and other operational barriers.
• Conduct shift huddles and maintain clear communication of priorities, expectations, process changes, and operational risks.
• Ensure team members follow established SOPs, quality standards, safety procedures, and pharmacy-related requirements.

People Leadership & Performance

• Provide direct supervision, coaching, feedback, and day-to-day direction to fulfillment team members.
• Support onboarding, training, cross-training, and ongoing development of team members to build flexibility and coverage across the operation.
• Monitor attendance, punctuality, productivity, quality, and adherence to expectations; elevate performance or conduct issues to the Sr. Manager as appropriate.
• Recognize strong performance and reinforce a positive, accountable, team-oriented work environment.
• Act as a role model for professionalism, accuracy, safety, customer focus, and operational discipline.

Productivity, Quality & KPI Management

• Monitor daily productivity, accuracy, service levels, backlog, and other assigned fulfillment KPIs.
• Identify performance trends and operational issues and provide timely updates and recommendations to the Sr. Manager.
• Assist with root-cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions for recurring quality, productivity, or service issues.
• Ensure quality checks, documentation, and required operational records are completed accurately and on time.

Inventory, Safety & Facility Standards

• Support proper inventory handling, storage, organization, replenishment, rotation, and security within the fulfillment area.
• Identify inventory shortages, damaged product, process gaps, and other issues that could affect order fulfillment and elevate them appropriately.
• Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and efficient work environment and promptly address or elevate safety concerns.

Cross-Functional Coordination

• Partner with pharmacy, verification, dispensing, customer service, inventory, and other teams to resolve order and workflow issues.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with internal partners and leadership regarding operational status, staffing, risks, and escalations.
• Support smooth handoffs between shifts and ensure open issues are documented and communicated.

Process Improvement & Change Adoption

• Identify practical opportunities to improve workflow, reduce rework, improve accuracy, and increase team productivity.
• Support the Sr. Manager with process changes, technology implementations, testing, training, and adoption of new procedures.
• Help maintain current SOPs, job aids, and standard work by providing frontline feedback on what is working and where changes are needed.

Backup Leadership for Sr. Fulfillment Manager

• Serve as the designated backup for the Sr. Pharmacy Fulfillment Manager and assume day-to-day operational leadership when the Sr. Manager is unavailable.
• Maintain staffing, workflow, service, quality, and safety oversight during manager absences and elevate issues requiring higher-level decisions.
• Lead daily huddles, review operating priorities and KPIs, communicate business updates, and coordinate cross-functional responses during manager absences.
• Provide a clear transition back to the Sr. Manager by documenting key decisions, open issues, staffing concerns, and operational results.
• Support business continuity during peak volume, staffing shortages, system issues, and other operational disruptions.
