Job Summary

Adventist Health Tillamook is seeking a Supervisor, Patient Access for a Full‑time position with 8‑hour variable shifts. The role is based onsite in Tillamook, OR. The Supervisor will oversee all functions within patient access, provide technical leadership for escalated or complex duties, monitor department efficiencies, and assume responsibility for meeting departmental goals. The position implements plans for improvement, maintains policies and procedures, and supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned personnel using professional judgment and independent discretion.

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required
  • Five years’ patient access experience: Preferred
Licenses/Certifications
  • Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) – Healthcare Financial Management Association: Preferred
Essential Functions
  • Supervise employees in patient access services and oversee all day‑to‑day activities and processes. Strategically align staff to support workload while meeting budget requirements and exercise independent judgment in recruiting, training, coaching and supervising staff.
  • Supervise insurance and verification authorization staff, including pre‑registration activities. Ensure all patient data is accurate, systems work efficiently, and monitor trends in volume, errors, cancellations and appointment‑driven reporting. Plan and develop new systematic approaches to maximize upfront collections and maintain accuracy in registrations.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide input on direct reports for human‑resource decisions such as hiring, promotions and disciplinary actions. Participate in employee development, delegate work appropriately, set clear expectations, follow up to ensure progress and overcome roadblocks, and identify team priorities based on business direction.
  • Lead by example, share knowledge and experiences, model a respectful work environment, create accountability, recognize accomplishments, provide timely feedback, connect development opportunities, identify top talent, and build a diverse yet cohesive team to accomplish objectives.
  • Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
