Job summary

Providence Portland Medical Center in Portland, OR is seeking a Supervisor Laboratory to lead the Department of Pathology. This full-time day shift role involves directing professional services, performing and assisting in human post-mortem and surgical pathology examinations, and supervising Surgical and Autopsy Pathology staff.

Under general supervision, the Supervisor implements procedures as directed by the Supervising Pathologist and ensures regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's from NAACLS Accredited Training Program for the Pathologists' Assistant
• National Certification from American Society for Clinical Pathology upon hire
• Minimum 5 years surgical pathology department experience
• Leadership (lead or supervisory role) experience

Full-Time/Day Shift

Under general supervision, the Supervisor is responsible for rendering professional services in the Department of Pathology. These services include performing and assisting in human post-mortem and surgical pathology examinations, supervising of Surgical and Autopsy Pathology staff, initiating and instituting other procedures as directed by the Supervising Pathologist.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree from NAACLS Accredited Training Program for the Pathologists' Assistant or
• Master's Degree from NAACLS Accredited Training Program for the Pathologists' Assistant
• Upon hire: National Certification from American Society for Clinical Pathology
• 5 years surgical pathology department experience
• Leadership (lead or supervisory role) experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Supervisory experience of a large staff (10+) on multiple shifts scope
• Experience from an equivalent high volume surgical pathology laboratory performing equivalent complexity of testing
