Job Summary

The Supervisor Paramedic works directly with the Operations Manager to support and oversee the day-to-day delivery of emergency medical services while promoting the values, guiding principles, and strategic objectives of Global Medical Response (GMR). This position is responsible for ensuring operational excellence, clinical quality, employee engagement, customer satisfaction, and community partnership development. The Supervisor Paramedic supports organizational goals by fostering positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, maintaining high service standards, driving operational efficiencies, and contributing to market growth and profitability. Success in this role is achieved through effective leadership, regulatory compliance, continuous quality improvement, employee development, and a commitment to GMR's mission of delivering compassionate, high-quality patient care.

Essential Functions / Duties

  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial, operational, and performance-related reports to identify trends and support informed decision-making.
  • Implement operational improvements and cost-containment measures while maintaining service quality and patient care standards.
  • Support and integrate clinical management activities to ensure the highest standards of patient care and clinical excellence.
  • Design, implement, and maintain processes that improve operational effectiveness, efficiency, and quality outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with all AMR/GMR policies, procedures, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote continuous quality improvement through collaboration with clinical leadership, communications centers, and protocol review processes.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with public and private emergency response partners and community stakeholders.
  • Establish and communicate operational goals and objectives that align with regional and organizational strategies.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, guidance, and clear performance expectations to field personnel and supervisors.
  • Manage employee performance by establishing standards, measuring results, delivering feedback, and supporting professional development.
  • Serve as a resource for employees by assisting with problem resolution, operational challenges, and performance improvement.

Minimum Education Required

Bachelors

Education / Licensing / Certification
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Emergency Medical Services, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Current state Paramedic certification/licensure required.
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and any additional certifications required by local, state, or company standards.
  • Valid driver's license with a driving record that meets AMR/GMR insurability requirements.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of EMS leadership, supervisory, or management experience, including direct employee supervision.

  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in emergency medical operations, preferably in a Paramedic EMS role.
  • Experience leading teams in a fast-paced EMS or healthcare environment.
  • Proven ability to manage operational performance, employee development, and customer service initiatives.
  • Experience with budgeting, performance metrics, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze operational and financial data and implement process improvements that drive results.
