Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific in Greenville, NC, seeks a B52 Supervisor (Combi 1) to provide frontline leadership for manufacturing and filling operations in a sterile injectable environment. You will guide production teams, drive continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with cGMP and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities include planning daily schedules, maintaining safety, coaching employees, and supporting successful transfer of processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred; equivalent education and experience considered.
• Experience leading manufacturing teams in a sterile or regulated environment is highly desired.
• Knowledge of aseptic processing and manufacturing operations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead production teams, drive accountability, and manage organizational change.
• Ensure production, quality, schedule, and cost objectives are met; address deviations.
• Maintain compliance with cGMP, FDA, OSHA, and internal quality requirements.
• Plan, monitor, and adjust daily production schedules to meet commitments.
• Promote a strong safety culture and enforce safety procedures.
• Evaluate employee performance and conduct regular performance reviews.
• Support transfer of new manufacturing processes and resolve technical issues.
• Develop and maintain production documentation and work instructions.
• Drive continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Monitor attendance, timecards, and ensure required training is completed.

We have industry-leading sterile injectable facilities providing solutions to take essential products from pre-clinical to the market. Pharmaceutical products come in many different dose forms including inhalations, oral dose, cream/ointment and injectables.

The B52 Supervisor (Combi 1) provides frontline leadership for manufacturing and filling operations, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient production of high-quality pharmaceutical products. In this role, you will lead production teams, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and support operational excellence while maintaining compliance with cGMP and regulatory requirements.

A Day in the Life:

• Lead and develop production teams while fostering accountability, engagement, and organizational change.
• Ensure production, quality, schedule, and cost objectives are achieved while addressing deviations.
• Maintain compliance with cGMPs, FDA, OSHA, and internal quality requirements.
• Plan, monitor, and adjust daily production schedules to meet customer commitments.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to safety procedures.
• Evaluate employee performance, coach team members, and complete performance reviews.
• Support technical issue resolution and successful transfer of new manufacturing processes.
• Develop and maintain production documentation, procedures, and work instructions.
• Drive continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
• Monitor attendance, approve timecards, ensure required training completion, and perform other assigned duties.

Keys to Success:

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Physical, Biological, Chemical, Production Science, or related field strongly preferred. Equivalent education and experience will be considered.

Experience

• 5+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Minimum 2 years of leadership experience.
• Sterile pharmaceutical manufacturing experience preferred.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

• Requires standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, lifting up to 50 pounds, occasional pushing/pulling over 100 pounds, manual dexterity, prolonged computer use, and the ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
