Job summary

StandardAero in Cincinnati, Ohio, is seeking an Operations Supervisor to oversee and organize equipment, manpower, processes and scheduling on the production floor. You will plan day-to-day operations, monitor throughput, collaborate across operations, finance, supply chain and engineering, and lead continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years in manufacturing or production environment.
  • Authorized to work in the US.
  • Associates or Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Business Administration or related discipline.
  • Strong planning, organizational, analytical, leadership, interpersonal, decision making, oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Strong logistics and problem-solving abilities is critical to the role.

Responsibilities

  • Plans day-to-day operations, assigns manpower, authorizes overtime, monitors employee utilization and ensures key metrics are achieved.
  • Monitors throughput yields daily and adjusts to maintain delivery schedules.
  • Coordinates with operations, finance, Operations Excellence, supply chain, and engineering to meet standards and goals.
  • Establishes and follows policies to achieve operating goals.
  • Assists in capacity planning for equipment, floor space and manpower.
  • Problem solving, resource maximization and escalation when needed.
  • Builds and develops team approaches to problem solving and continuous improvement.

As an Operations Supervisor, you’ll have the responsibility of overseeing and organizing the equipment, manpower requirements, processes, and scheduling on a production floor.

What You’ll Do
  • Plans day-to-day operations, assigns manpower, authorizes overtime, monitors/measures employee utilization/efficiency and works with employees to ensure key metrics are achieved
  • Monitors throughput yields on a daily basis; makes adjustments as necessary to maintain delivery schedules.
  • Coordinates and liaises with operations, finance, Operations Excellence, supply chain, and engineering to ensure operations standards and goals are achieved.
  • Establishes, implements, and/or follows policies and procedures needed to achieve the business unit's strategic operating goals.
  • Assists in performing capacity planning for equipment, floor space and manpower requirements in accordance with forecasted workload.
  • Responsible for independent problem solving; have the ability to maximize resources available and know how to properly communicate and elevate to achieve goals.
  • Builds and develops team approaches to problem solving and continuous improvement concepts within the assigned area.
  • May participate in the business unit management team(s), assisting with the development and realization of strategic plans, budgets, goals and outcomes.
  • Exercises authority in hiring, training, career development, performance appraisal, salary adjustments, promotion, discipline, health, safety and the general employee relations of direct reports.
  • Carries out special projects as assigned.
  • May perform other cell operations tasks as required, depending on business needs and technical qualifications.
Basic Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Must be authorized to work in the US.
Desired Skills
  • Several years of supervisory or lead experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Associates or Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Business Administration or related discipline.
  • Strong planning, organizational, analytical, leadership, interpersonal, decision making, oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Strong logistics and problem-solving abilities is critical to the role
