Job summary

StandardAero is seeking an Operations Manager (Clean Line / NDT) to lead two critical production functions in aviation maintenance. You will guide daily operations, plan and schedule production, manage costs, and partner with engineering and quality to address recurring issues.

The role emphasizes safety, quality, delivery, and continuous improvement, with opportunities to drive strategic initiatives and develop a high-performance team.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in aviation maintenance, operation and testing.
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing safety, quality, delivery, productivity, capacity, and employee performance.
  • Experience with continuous improvement, Lean, root cause analysis, process optimization, or engineering principles.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operations for the Clean Line and NDT teams, ensuring safe, efficient work.
  • Direct production planning and scheduling according to sales volume and inventory.
  • Plan day-to-day operations, assign manpower, authorize overtime and control costs.
  • Monitor production yields and adjust to maintain delivery schedules.
  • Coordinate with production, supply, sales, engineering and customer service to meet standards.
  • Establish and implement policies to meet strategic goals.
  • Perform capacity planning for equipment, floor space, and manpower.
  • Build team approaches to problem solving and continuous improvement.
  • Produce and maintain performance measures to display strengths/weaknesses.
  • Reinforce documentation accuracy and process adherence.
  • Promote safety culture and compliance with safety policies.
  • Monitor capital expenditures relative to budget.
  • Handle recruitment, pay, safety, and organizational goals.

As an Operations Manager (Clean Line and NDT), you will manage two critical production functions supporting engine repair and overhaul operations. This role combines operations leadership, process engineering and continuous improvement, and strategic capability development to drive safety, quality, delivery, cost, production, and long-term operational performance across the Clean Line and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) teams.

What you'll do:
  • Lead daily operations for the Clean Line and NDT teams, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with production schedules, quality requirements, and customer commitments.
  • Directs the production planning and scheduling process according to sales volume, sales mix, inventory requirements and materials availability.
  • Plans day-to-day operations, assigns manpower, authorizes overtime and controls costs.
  • Monitors production yields on a daily basis; makes adjustments as necessary to maintain delivery schedules.
  • Coordinates and liaises with production, supply, sales, engineering and customer service to ensure production standards and goals are achieved.
  • Establishes and implements policies and procedures needed to achieve the business unit's strategic operating goals.
  • Performs capacity planning for equipment, floor space and manpower requirements in accordance with forecasted workload.
  • Builds and develops team approaches to problem solving and continuous improvement concepts within the assigned area.
  • Produces and maintains measures of performance to graphically display performance-related strengths and weaknesses within the work group.
  • Reinforce accountability for accurate documentation, process adherence.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company safety.
  • Monitors, controls and reports on the group's capital expenditures in relation to budgeted amounts.
  • Performs administrative activities necessary for the effective management of the work group, including the selecting of employees, pay administration, budget administration, employee safety, employee counseling and motivation, organization goals and objectives, and planning, organizing, integrating and measuring the work performed within the group.
  • Actively participates in the business unit management team(s), assisting with the development and realization of strategic plans, budgets, goals and outcomes.
  • Partner with Engineering and Quality to address recurring process issues, production constraints, and quality concerns.
  • Exercises authority in hiring, training, career development, performance appraisal, salary adjustments, promotion, discipline, health, safety and the general employee relations of direct reports.
  • Carries out special projects as assigned.
  • May perform production tasks as required, depending on work group size and technical qualifications.
Position Requirements:
  • 5+ years in aviation maintenance, operation and testing experience.
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing safety, quality, delivery, productivity, capacity, and employee performance.
  • Experience with continuous improvement, Lean, root cause analysis, process optimization, or engineering principles.
  • Product knowledge of respective business segment is beneficial.
  • Strong planning, organizational, analytical, leadership, interpersonal, decision making, oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow company instructions, company processes, administrative policies and procedures, and export compliance regulations.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred Characteristics:
  • Experience within an FAA Part 145 Repair Station or similar regulated aviation maintenance environment.
  • Turbine engine maintenance, repair, overhaul, inspection, or testing experience.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, value-stream mapping, or standard work.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
  • Working knowledge of production management computer systems.
  • Aviation Clean Line and/or Non-Destructive experience preferred.
