Job summary

Grundycoschools is seeking a Transportation Supervisor to organize, direct, and oversee student transportation operations. You will manage drivers, coordinate routes, and ensure safety and compliance with regulations. Reports to the Director of Schools and works closely with principals and community stakeholders.

You will lead training programs, monitor budgets, and maintain records while communicating effectively with parents and local officials to deliver reliable transportation services.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent with experience in transportation.
• Knowledge of laws, rules, regulations, and guidelines governing student transportation.
• Strong leadership to supervise bus drivers and maintenance staff.
• Ability to plan routes, stops, and training programs for staff.

Responsibilities

• Organize, plan, direct, and implement operations and activities involved in student transportation to assure safe and effective transportation services.
• Plan and direct pre-service and in-service training of bus drivers in cooperation with staff development and safety/security units; provide leadership for development of vehicle safety program.
• Plan and implement transportation route and bus stop locations in cooperation with school principals and other school personnel involved.
• Interview driver applicants; recommend drivers for employment and dismissal.
• Train, assign, direct, review, and evaluate work of assigned employees.
• Inspect and diagnose mechanical defects in machines and equipment.
• Promote positive relationships through effective communication with parents, community representatives, local officials, and the general public.
• Receive and resolve issues, concerns, and complaints regarding student transportation services by directing issues to appropriate personnel and monitoring resolution.
• Assist with budget preparation as required, monitor and control budget according to established guidelines.
• Prepare required reports and ensure the preparation and maintenance of department records; prepare and deliver oral reports as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the director and/or assistant director of schools.

Terms of Employment: Twelve-month contract with salary as established by experience placement on current salary scale
