Job summary

The Ephrata Area School District is seeking a Supervisor of Student Services (Special Education Consultant) to coordinate special education programs for K-4 students. This full-time position supports administrators, teachers, and parents in providing crucial educational and emotional interventions.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree or higher, relevant certifications, and a minimum of five years teaching experience. This role entails regular communication with various stakeholders and maintaining confidential information.

Status is contracted based on EAEA Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Qualifications

• Five years of teaching in the area of certification.
• Possess criminal clearances (Act 34, Act 114, Act 151).
• Regular and punctual attendance required.

This full‑time contracted position supports the 3 Coordinators of Student Support Services, coordinating comprehensive special education programs for K‑4 in a district with 4 elementary buildings. The role assists administrators, teachers, counselors, and parents in providing appropriate educational, social, and emotional interventions for students with special needs.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred)
• Certification: Special Education and Supervisory certification
• Experience: Five years of teaching in the area of certification
• Language Skills: Evaluate, interpret, and analyze; effective written and verbal communication; maintain written records; present information to colleagues, students, parents, and administrators; communicate clearly and concisely with tact and diplomacy
• Mathematical Skills: Work with mathematical concepts, math reasoning, and math logic
• Other Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of Special Education Regulations and Federal Laws for students with disabilities; best practices for gifted, disabled, and at‑risk students; collaboration with administrators, professionals, and para‑professionals; curriculum development for students with disabilities, ELL, and gifted students
